Travel through time

Delhi the capital city of India, is the heart of the country in the true sense. From the historical enigma to a shopping and eating paradise, it truly is magic. The half day Delhi sightseeing tour gives you a glimpse of the history and city life all in one. Take a guided tour of the Red Fort and do an Old Delhi bazaar walk.

Red Fort is the residence of the Mughal kings in the centre of the city and also designated as UNESCO World Heritage site. It was constructed in 1639 by the Mughal Emperor as the palace of his fortified capital, the Red Fort is named for its massive enclosing walls of red sandstone and was plundered of its artwork and jewels. The fort’s defensive walls were largely spared, and the fortress was subsequently used as a garrison. Every year on the Independence day of India (15 August), the Prime Minister hoists the Indian “tricolour flag” at the main gate of the fort and delivers a nationally broadcast speech from its ramparts.

After a dose of history, take a rickshaw ride and do a bazaar walk through the bylanes of Old Delhi. Here visit the Dariba Kalan (the silver market), Kinari Bazaar (wedding market) and Paranthewali Galli (Lane of Parathas), Khari Baoli (Spice Market). Also pay a visit to the holy Gurdwara Sees Ganj Sahib to experience the serenity. Walk past the Jama Masjid the largest mosque in India and see the Hindu temples, Jain derasars and churches- in all Delhi in a nutshell. Old Delhi is a staggering background, bazaars of Old Delhi have such a great amount to offer that you can’t stop at one place. The bazaars extend from flavors to Jewellery to footwear to spices to wedding apparels. Old Delhi is surely an overwhelming experience. After Old Delhi bazaar walk and rickshaw ride the vehicle is at your disposal in case you would like to explore some of the other sites like Lotus Temple or Akshardham Temple on your own.
